A Family that Eats Pho

He is an unshaven, indian woven belt wearing man with a visible split in the seams of his left shoe. You could see him in a research library, or the corner of University and Dispaire.
She is a beautiful makeup free brunet with a flowing paisley print shirt.  Tall, flipflop wearing, she seems very confident.  She is definitely a nerd.
There Children are roughly 10 and 14.  Curious boys who seem to care more about science than soccer. They wear school Uniforms.  The youngest a white (or what once was white) cotton button down.   The oldest is wearing a collared shirt.  The kind of shirt that freshman wear in order to show they can CHOOSE which callared shirt to wear.
They order tofu spring rolls, a giant bowl of pho and a variety of drinks.  The youngest requires a bit of nudging to try a drink that is “interesting and different”.  In the end he seems content with the choice.
As they eat the discussion seams to meander around random facts learned that day.  ”Chinese is the most spoken language in the world” and “french and italian are more common than expected”.  Statements like “If one man can change the world, imagine what a million people can do, they could change the Universe” are said without fear of mockery.
I am not sure why I am so fascinated with this family.  They are no better than my own.  It is nice to see a family, which like mine, encouraged curiosity.  A family that is not “typical”, they eat pho, discuss population numbers, and most of all seem totally happy with how they are.
