Continue reading for a more graphic video of dolphin slaughter.

I watched the Cove last night. As you may know, I am not bashful about the causes that I care about. As a result I tend to get pretty fired up when something tugs on my heart strings.

The movie takes place in Taiji Japan. OPS put together an amazing team to get this documentary going. As the film progresses you start to realize how much cover up there is behind the dolphin killings. Basically the team has to sneak into various locations and set up hidden HD cameras. Once this is done they are able to go back a couple days later to recover the tapes.

When you actually see what goes on in the cove, it’s disgusting. Hundreds of dolphins are killed by harpoon. You watch the water turn red as the dolphins drown from not being able to stay at the surface. The images of a blood red ocean are chilling and something that you can’t ignore.

I will be posting more information about the movie and the issue later this week. If you have any comments or information please feel free to leave a comment on this post.

So, I ended up watching both these videos, totaling over 1 hour, but well wroth it. If you don’t have a lot of time to sit back and watch, I recommend at least glancing through the first one.

So, after watching these lectures (which I found to be SUPER interesting) I am still stuck with the through “but if I was obviously innocent, wouldn’t I want to explain that?” and “but I have nothing to hide!” also pops into mind.

That said, anyone who knows me, knows that I have the ability to both run my mouth and run it right into a hole worth of digging out of.

Now, I am not recommending that people be rude to cops, or refuse to answer basic questions. The lecture does make a good point though. When it comes down to it, nothing you say can help you later, it can only hurt you.

One thing I can say is that authority figures can be REALLY intimidating. They know there job, and if you are pulled over, questioned or even walking buy a cop, its on there terms. I do have a story about trying to lie to an authority figure (fire) back when I was in junior high. I can tell you from experience, that was a really really stupid idea.

So if I get pulled over for speeding, and am asked “do you know how fast you were going?” I won’t be jumping up and down screaming “I TAKE THE 5th!” I will try and keep my mouth shut through.

*Disclaimer – I am a web developer / internet marketer. If you think this is legal advice… yeah good luck with that.

Today I stumbled onto a blog that was talking about the 5 things that guys fear most in dating.

The list was fairly generic with things like “You will turn crazy after pretending to be sane”. One item however did stick out to my and was worth the read.

Fear #4: You Won’t Respect Him

A wise psychologist once wrote, “In a relationship, women want to be cherished and men want to be admired.” Men do want their partners to admire them. Not in a ticker-tape parade kind of way, but as a quiet nod of respect for what he does and has accomplished. We all know this on some primal level.

I have both read and experienced this before. Something about being a man makes you want to feel needed or appreciated.

Now don’t get me wrong. The last thing I or men like me want is a partner that you have to baby sit all the time. In fact I would say some of us truly want a woman that we will respect as a true equal. That said, something about be a man makes you want to feel needed or appreciated.

I should say that the vast majority of women I surround myself with as friends understand this. At the very least they understand that being an independent woman is about being self reliant, not about being stubborn.

To all you women out there that get what I am talking about, thank you!
